All of us at Affirming YOUth Foundation, Inc. want to thank you for your partnership, loyalty, and financial support this past year. We hope you continue in the new year as we continue to expand our Social Emotional Enhancement and Development for Success (SEEDS) Program.
SEEDS offers a unique trauma-resolution therapy for youth through its evidenced-based trauma-focused intervention curriculum. These life-changing interventions help youth who may suffer from Post Traumatic Stress symptoms from having experienced a traumatic life event such as:
Physical/sexual abuse
Sudden death or loss of a loved one
Serious illness or injury
Witnessing/experience violence
Youth are individually selected and referred by a parent and/or partner organizations to participate.
The goal of SEEDS is to relieve and prevent emotional suffering and to the promote “post-traumatic growth” of traumatized children and their families.
The SEEDS Program is offered by professional therapists with trauma expertise. The program includes:
Trauma education
Emotional support
Individual and group trauma-specific therapy
Expressive, experiential, and creative learning opportunities
Parent engagement
All in a fun, positive, and memorable experience!
The value of therapeutic services provided in this program is over $2500. Thanks to The William R. Kenan, Jr., Charitable Trust, The Miami Foundation, and donors like you, we are able to make this program available for free to fifty (50) youth and families in Liberty City, Miami-Dade County, Florida. Our goal is to reach over 100 youth.
